What Georgia basketball coach Mike White, assistants made in bonuses for making March Madness
Georgia basketball’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 10 years brought bonuses to coach Mike White and his assistant coaches as laid out in their contracts with the school.
Making the tournament is worth 10 percent of the base salaries for the assistant coaches, according to Georgia athletics’ bonus policy. The four assistant coaches will get a combined $111,5000.
White gets a bonus of $37,500 for reaching the tournament, according to his contract.
As for the assistant coaches, Erik Pastrana will get a $35,000 bonus, Anthony Goins will receive $32,500, Antonio Reynolds Dean is in line for $30,500 and Patrick Blake $13,500.
Reynolds Dean, Pastrana and Goins signed contracts through June 30, 2026 while Blake through June 30, 2025. Pastrana is leaving Georgia to join Miami's staff.
Reynolds Dean, the associate head coach, has a smaller base salary than Pastrana and Goins, but he leads in total pay at $425,000 annually after $120,000 in supplemental compensation. Pastrana’s total pay is $375,000, Goins $325,000 and Blake $135,000.
Georgia lost to Gonzaga 89-68 in an NCAA Tournament first round game on Thursday in Wichita, Kan.
A record seven SEC teams reached the Sweet 16 of March Madness.
White’s contract calls for his performance bonus to go up to $75,000 if Georgia were to reach the Sweet 16 and assistant coaches bonus would go up to 15 percent of their base salary if the Bulldogs were to advance there.
