Vikings bring in Golden Gophers QB for a NFL Draft visit

The Minnesota Vikings are moving forward with J.J. McCarthy as their starting quarterback in 2025. But they could use depth at the position. This week, they brought in a local product for a draft visit.

According to Tyler Forness of A to Z Sports, the Vikings hosted Minnesota Gophers quarterback Max Brosmer this week. Because Brosmer is a local player, his visit doesn't count against the official 30 visits they will have with other potential draftees.

Brosmer spent the 2024 season with the Gophers after transferring from FCS New Hampshire. He helped the Gophers go 8-5, completing 66.5% of his passes for 2,828 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.

The 24-year-old quarterback's limited skillset projects him to be a Day 3 pick at best. However, if he goes undrafted, Brosmer could sign with the Vikings, as he wore a shirt with their logo at the Gophers' spring practice this week.
