Manchester City’s midfield has become a weakness for Pep Guardiola’s side this season. Players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan look to be past their best. Phil Foden has struggled to reach the heights he usually plays at this season. Rodri’s season-ending injury has also crippled City’s engine room. Nico arrived in January but you do sense that Manchester City will further strengthen their midfield this summer.
Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney looks at eight players who could strengthen Manchester City’s midfield this summer. Florian Wirtz is one of the eight players Steven looks at. The German international does look to be the ideal player to replace Kevin De Bruyne. Although he is a different type of player to the Manchester City legend.
