The 2025 SEC Softball season has lived up to the hype. There have been some phenomenal series across the conference, and the top of the league has several teams that will vie for the SEC championship and the national championship.
Oklahoma's series loss to the Tennessee Volunteers created a lot of movement in this week's power rankings, but so did South Carolina's series win over LSU. The league is beginning to beat up on itself a bit, showing there are some strong programs even outside of the top three or four teams.
So what do the SEC Power Rankings look like after another fantastic weekend of softball action?
1. Texas Longhorns (34-3, 7-2)
The Texas Longhorns lost the first game of the series to Mississippi State but beat the Bulldogs by a combined score of 14-5. The Longhorns look like the team to beat in the race to take the national title crown from the Oklahoma Sooners. Texas has the Missouri Tigers up next.
2. Tennessee Volunteers (27-6, 5-4)
When you beat the four-time defending national champions in a series on their home field, you get a significant bump in the power rankings. Tennessee can hit and they can pitch. They're a legitimate national title contender.
3. Oklahoma Sooners (29-1, 8-1)
In 2024, the Oklahoma Sooners lost regular season series to Texas and Oklahoma State. They still went on to win the national championship. The Sooners have to figure out a few things in the lineup and in the circle, but they're still an incredibly talented team and will be a Women's College World Series squad.
4. Florida Gators (33-5, 6-3)
The Florida Gators swept Auburn over the weekend to rebound from their series loss to Texas. The Gators are No. 2 in the conference in team batting average and No. 4 in the SEC in ERA. Up next is a big series against Bri Ellis and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
5. South Carolina Gamecocks (27-7, 4-5)
