Top WR prospect and potential Steelers target accepts 2025 NFL Draft invite

One of the top WR prospects—an electrifyingly fast athlete who just visited the Pittsburgh Steelers on a top-30 pre-draft visit—has been invited to attend the 2025 NFL Draft: none other than Texas Longhorn Matthew Golden.

Golden was already considered one of the most sought-after prospects before he officially ran a 4.29-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine—and his invitation proves that he’s now undeniable.

Although recently invited Alabama QB Jalen Milroe has been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers over the past week and a half—thanks to Colin Cowherd—it’s hard to imagine the Steel City letting Golden slide past their 21st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The NFL typically only invites prospects they believe could be selected in the first round. And while Milroe’s invitation raised a few eyebrows, everyone can understand Golden’s live appearance at the draft.

Will the Pittsburgh Steelers select one of these recently invited players with the 21st overall pick—or will the team ultimately trade back to gather additional draft assets?
