Dan Parr of NFL.com recently listed out the top five needs for each team heading into the 2025 NFL draft. Do you agree with his picks and the order of those selections for the Indianapolis Colts?
At the top of Parr's list for the Colts was tight end, followed by the offensive line, and linebacker.
I don't have an issue with these positions being the top three nor the order of them. In addition to needing more playmaking at tight end, the room is quite thin currently as well.
Then along the offensive line, there are question marks without Will Fries, and when it comes to the overall success of the offense, regardless of who is at quarterback, consistent play starts up front. At linebacker, meanwhile, finding competition for the starting spot next to Zaire Franklin is a decent-sized priority.
After those three positions, Parr had edge rusher at No. 4. If it were me, I'd have the defensive tackle spot at four with there being a greater need for improved depth at that spot than at end that still has Laiatu Latu, Kwity Paye, Tyquan Lewis, and Samson Ebukam.
Lastly, at No. 5, Parr listed running back. I think that's a fair selection, given that GM Chris Ballard said earlier this offseason that the production from the backup role behind Jonathan Taylor has to improve. I also don't believe the addition of Khalil Herbert will stop the Colts from making an addition here, especially given the depth of this year's draft class.
With that said, if I can be picky, I'd put defensive end since it's a premier position. I also think one could make an argument for safety. Behind Cam Bynum and Nick Cross on the depth chart are Rodney Thomas, Daniel Scott, and Marcel Dabo.
