Three-star TE target Brandon Miree recaps first FSU visit

Three-star TE target Landen Miree made his first visit to Tallahassee on Tuesday for a spring practice.

The Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton product has been wanting to get down to Florida State to check it out as the Seminoles are one of the options he is seriously considering for his collegiate home despite being so far away.

"I've always wanted to come out here, dating back to all the greats that came through here," Miree said. "Deion Sanders, Jameis Winston — who wouldn't want to come, you know?"

"It was everything you could ask for in a visit, really. There was a lot of intensity," he added.

That intensity carried over to tight ends coach Chris Thomsen's coaching style, which Miree "really loved" while watching the Seminoles' seventh spring practice.

Despite never visiting prior to Tuesday, Miree has set up an official visit with the Seminoles for June 13, a midweek date sandwiched in between visits to Cincinnati and Washington. In addition to those three, Auburn and North Carolina have also locked in official visits with the 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end.

"I want a school that can help get my parents to every game. That will use me to my strengths, since I'm really a mismatch wherever I go. That's really it," Miree said.

Miree is coming off a productive season at tight end for Princeton, hauling in 56 receptions for 714 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns during his junior campaign.
