It's another year of Booker T. Washington boys soccer standouts signing to play at the college level.
Booker T. head coach Felipe Lawall said it's now 10 players over the last few years, at least, to sign and play college soccer. It's also the third consecutive season that a Wildcat has signed to play Division I soccer.
After a stellar 17-1-1 senior season for Felipe Lawall – the son of Coach Lawall – Ryan Chandler and Exavier Ali, the trio of seniors made it official on Friday to play at the collegiate level. Felipe will stay local at the University of West Florida. Chandler is going Division I and signed to play with USC Upstate. Ali is headed to Division III Huntingdon College in Alabama.
Outside of Felipe being Coach Lawall's son, he mentioned during the season just how much this senior class meant to him. Lawall, who also coaches club teams in the area, coached a core group of these players since they were 7 or 8 years old. They grew up in the same neighborhoods, growing up together with soccer.
Playing together at Booker T. Washington was just icing on the cake.
