Texas Longhorns baseball jumps to No. 2 in USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

A great weekend for the Texas Longhorns baseball team has gotten even better on Monday. UT is up to No. 2 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Texas sits behind new No. 1 Arkansas.

Texas swept a home series against the then No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs over the weekend. It was UT's second SEC sweep in a row after sweeping the Missouri Tigers last weekend. Texas is now 26-4 overall and 11-1 in the SEC, by far the strongest conference in the country. The SEC holds the top four positions in the poll and seven of the Top 10.

Just behind Texas at No. 3 is LSU, who Texas took 2 out of 3 against to start SEC conference play. Tennessee dropped to No. 4. Last week's No. 1 dropped a weekend series to Texas A&M. Clemson rounds out the top five.

Georgia dropped to No. 6 in the new poll after its rough weekend in Austin. The Bulldogs are followed by Ole Miss, Florida State, Oregon State and Alabama.
