Tennessee Titans add quarterback and critical depth in Chad Reuter's five-round mock

Talk of the NFL draft is everywhere; it’s hard to even believe that teams are in the middle of the end stages of free agency.

The Tennessee Titans are in an interesting spot with the No. 1 overall pick. On the other hand, they are more than a quarterback away from being a true contender. But on the other hand, they need to find that quarterback to eventually achieve that status.

The Titans decided to address the quarterback position again early in Chad Reuter’s five-round mock draft.

Pick 1  -  Tennessee Titans  -  QB Cam Ward  -  Miami

Ward said at his pro day that he was "solidifying" his draft status, but this connection has been obvious for some time. The Titans need a new quarterback, and Ward possesses the leadership, arm strength and off-platform playmaking ability to be an excellent starter.

In the second round, Reuter has the Titans trading back 15 spots in a deal with the Seattle Seahawks to pick up a third-round selection. With that pick (50), Tennessee selects Ohio State edge rusher JT Tuimoloau.

Tuimoloau is raw with tremendous upside and could be an impact player for a defense that struggled to apply pressure in 2024.

In that trade, the Titans gave up a second-round pick (35) and their first fifth-round pick (141) for Seattle's second-rounder (50) and a third-round pick (92). Now armed with that third-round pick, Tennessee adds a playmaker for their new quarterback and selects Tennessee wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr.

Thornton, a big, explosive receiver who can add a physical dimension opposite Calvin Ridley.

In the fourth round, Reuter has Tennessee adding some depth and a playmaker with their two selections. At pick No. 103, they select Kansas State cornerback Jacob Parrish to help add some young depth in a secondary that could use an influx of talent. They followed that by selecting Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo at pick No. 120. This could be a value pick that complements Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears in the backfield.

After trading away pick No. 141, the Titans are left with their final mock selection, pick No. 167. With that selection, the Titans took undersized, athletic, UCLA linebacker Kain Medrano. Built more like a strong safety, Medrano is fast and has solid coverage skills, a dimension the Titans could use in their new-look linebacker corps.
