Tennessee baseball throws combined no-hitter in run-rule win against Texas A&M

Liam Doyle shut down Texas A&M for six innings Friday to set the stage for Tennessee baseball's second no-hitter this season.

The No. 1 Vols no-hit the Aggies in a 10-0 run-rule win in seven innings at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Doyle and Dylan Loy teamed up for the no-hitter, which was the 10th program history and the fifth combined no-hitter.

The Vols threw a combined no-hitter on March 7 in a 12-0 win against St. Bonaventure. Doyle, Tanner Franklin, Brandon Arvidson, Brayden May and Michael Sharman combined for that no-hitter. It was the first no-hitter for the Vols since 2002 and the first combined no-hitter since 2000.

Doyle struck out eight and walked two in six innings against Texas A&M, which the Vols faced for the first time since winning the College World Series in June in Omaha.

Friday's no-hitter was the first in an SEC game since Vanderbilt pitcher Jack Leiter no-hit South Carolina on March 21, 2021.

It is the second time in program history that UT has thrown two no-hitters in the same season. It threw three in 1976.
