Steelers land massive defender in new mock draft

When the Pittsburgh Steelers go on the clock in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, there are a few scenarios we would consider the best case. One of those is if former Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant makes it all the way down to their pick. This is how things worked out for the Steelers in the latest mock draft from NFL Network's Eric Edholm.

Here is what Edholm has to say about the pick:

The Steelers have spent ample resources on the offensive line over the past few drafts and now must turn their attention to the other side of the trenches. The 330-pound Grant would fill a massive need inside, with Cameron Heyward turning 36 in May.

Grant would be an immediate upgrade over Larry Ogunjobi, who the Steelers released during free agency. Edholm only has one defensive tackle coming off the board. This is altogether possible but we'd feel more comfortable about Grant lasting to No. 21 if a player like Walter Nolen or Derrick Harmon went first. If neither of those guys are taken first, Grant falling could be a longshot thanks to his immense power and surprising athleticism.
