Nico Iamaleava completed his first season as Tennessee's starting quarterback in 2024. The Vols went 10-3 and appeared in the College Football Playoff.
Iamaleava and Tennessee also defeated Florida and Alabama at Neyland Stadium in 2024.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound quarterback is going through his third spring practices with the Vols. Tennessee is scheduled to conclude spring football practices on Saturday with its annual Orange & White Game. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. EDT at Neyland Stadium.
Pete Nakos of On3 announced Thursday that Iamaleava and Tennessee are in active contract negotiations ahead of the 2025 season.
The Vols held their final spring practice on Friday ahead of the Orange & White Game. Pete Thamel of ESPN announced Iamaleava was not at Tennessee's final practice on Friday.
"Nico Iamaleava did not attend Tennessee spring practice today," Thamel said. "He’s been in conversations with Tennessee about a new contract. The no-show of practice came as a surprise."
