Should the Eagles address the offensive line or add an edge rusher with first round pick?

The 2025 NFL draft is now 13 days away, and as players complete their top 30 visits, mock drafts are changing after several big free agent signings and blockbuster trades. Philadelphia and teams at the bottom of the draft will spend the next two weeks evaluating the players who can make an immediate contribution.

The Eagles have eight picks, and GM Howie Roseman will work to stockpile talent while retooling and maintaining a Super Bowl window.  The biggest question ahead of Round 1 centers on whether the Eagles will add an edge rusher, defensive tackle, or offensive tackle.

Philadelphia builds through the trenches, and according to ESPN's Tim McManus, that'll be the likely direction in two weeks.

It's a safe bet, as the Eagles have used their first pick on a lineman nine times since Roseman became general manager in 2010. The most direct path to playing time is on the defensive side of the ball, with the departures of Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, and Milton Williams creating openings in the rotation. Eventually, Philadelphia will want to find a successor for standout right tackle Lane Johnson, but he's still playing well and believes he has some good years left.

According to Jordan Reid, defensive tackle Walter Nolen (Ole Miss) and edge rusher James Pearce Jr. (Tennessee) are two players who could entice Howie Roseman into trading up for more athleticism and elite talent.

After using their first two picks in 2024 on Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, the Eagles will likely focus on the trenches.
