Shedeur Poised To Match LeBron?

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has not even been drafted yet and media personalities are already drawing comparisons to famous athletes who have struck it big.

Podcaster Bill Simmons is one example. He said on his show on Friday Sanders could be as big as LeBron James in Cleveland. Now, all Sanders has to do is be drafted by the Cleveland Browns next month.

"So, if he has an inkling that he could go second, he knows in Cleveland, like, obviously LeBron was there. Like, you can become a big star in Cleveland, but I can see it," Simmons said. "It's a good situation because their team wasn't bad last year. Like, it's not, they're not that far away from being a little more impactful, maybe if they had a decent QB."

Who was Simmons watching last season? The Browns were far from not being a bad team last season. They were outright awful. Chances are, even with Sanders, they will be awful this season, too.

The Browns own the second pick in the draft because they were the second worst team in football. They won three games out of 17. They have not had a worse season since going 0-16 in 2017.

Simmons' guest on the show was NFL draft analyst Todd McShay. ... who thinks Sanders would be a good fit with the Browns and he can turn them into winners immediately.

"It got me thinking the skill sets are the same. Not big, not mobile, not elite arms, but process quickly. That's (Stefanski's) secret sauce," McShay said. "So he's winning games with these guys who are pocket passers, don't have these traits, but they all process quickly. They're accurate passers.

"That's what Shedeur is."

Maybe so. But what Shedeur isn't - because nobody is - is LeBron.
