Saints made the shortlist for 2025 draft tight end Tyler Warren's private workout

The New Orleans Saints have met with many prospects this spring, and have had the opportunity to meet with some of the best at every position in the class. While quarterbacks get notoriety due to their positional value, some of the other offensive skills positions have exceptional talents at them, potentially even better than the quarterbacks in the 2025 draft class.

One of the best players is Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, who has been one of the top names in the 2025 draft for a little while now. His value lies in his ability to create separation at the catch point and then generate yards after the catch at an extremely high level. He would ultimately choose not to perform at the NFL scouting combine or Penn State's pro day, and in a report by Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, it would be made clear why that is:

"Warren’s choice to stand on the sidelines was something I’ve been privy to for a few weeks now. I was told the tight end is focusing on a handful of teams and will showcase his talents for them before the draft. The New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Indianapolis Colts were three of the teams named. Since then, I’ve been told the New Orleans Saints and both LA teams have seemingly joined the mix."

It is good to see that the Saints are among the teams who have a chance to meet with Warren or potentially set up a private workout with him. Getting as much knowledge as they can on every player in the class is an enormous part of scouting, and Warren may end up being someone on the Saints' radar at pick No. 9 if this goes well.

2024 was an outstanding season for the tight end as well, posting 104 receptions for 1,233 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns, but also rushing 26 times for 218 yards and four touchdowns as well. He would end up landing seventh in Heisman Trophy voting for this strong campaign, ahead of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and behind Army quarterback Bryson Daily.

It will be interesting to see if or when the Saints are able to meet with Warren in the coming weeks, and how that may end up resulting in whether or not they select him when the draft comes around.
