The New Orleans Saints have met with a boatload of prospects throughout the offseason process, not specifically targeting any one position over the rest. With that said, they have seemingly met with quite a few players in the trenches, more specifically the interior offensive line, where they continue to look for long-term solutions at various positions. With Taliese Fuaga and Erik McCoy being the only truly high-level performers so far, they may look to shuffle things up in the coming years.
One of the prospects they have met with is Texas center Jake Majors, who recently spoke about his pre-draft experience in an interview with Justin Melo of The Draft Network: "I met with the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Houston Texans, and New England Patriots in person around Pro Day. I recently met with the Washington Commanders on Zoom."
Majors is a five-year collegiate player with a redshirt freshman season, but after that first year in 2020, he would go on to start every single game played in the remaining four years, setting a school record with 57 career starts. From 2022 to 2024 he has been absolutely outstanding, as in 2,810 snaps he has allowed one sack and 27 hurries, taking all of those snaps at center.
At 6-foot-3 and 306 pounds, he also has plus size for an interior offensive lineman, and solid performances in the few athletic tests that have been reported, with 25 reps in the bench press at the NFL scouting combine, and 36.5 inches in the vertical jump. That adds up to a 7.91 Relative Athletic Score. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on when the Saints come up to select at various points on Day 3 of the draft, and potentially even Day 2.
