Lakewood wins in seventh
Carter Davis and Garrett Hardway each reached base and scored runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving the host Lancers a 4-3 season-opening victory against Bexley.
Evan Moore recorded three hits, Davis a double and Jalen White two RBIs for Lakewood. Davis fired six two-hit scoreless innings of relief, striking out eight.
Heath wins opener
Jamison Walsh’s three hits led a 13-hit attack, and Walsh also scored a run and drove in one for Heath in a 9-3 season-opening victory at Dublin Jerome.
Connor Corbett added two hits, two runs and two RBIs, Preston DeVito and Cam Stephens two hits, a run and an RBI apiece and Quentin Sunkle two hits and a run for the Bulldogs. DeVito struck out three and allowed two earned runs in five innings.
Johnstown rallies at Hartley
