Roma legend Aldair weighs in on club’s next head coach: “A strong name is needed.”
Legendary Roma defender Aldair spoke about the capital club’s season and the important decisions that await the Giallorossi.
In an interview with “Area Lounge” by Roma Tg, YouTube and Twitch channel dedicated to Roma, Aldair discussed the various elements at stake ahead of the new season.
“Compared to last year, the way of playing has changed a bit, the coaches. Ranieri now, before Daniele, but the players are the same. I think Mancini is a very tough defender, I think Roma is well placed in defense. The full-backs have also started to play well.”
“There are many things being talked about in this period. I also heard the current coach talking about this. I think Roma needs to prepare for the centenary. I think we need to build a strong team for next year, for the mentality, to be able to get as high as possible.”
“For 2027, the club’s centenary, the club must have this mentality: it is an important year, the fans deserve it, we need to immediately show what will happen in that year.”
“In my opinion Ancelotti is a beautiful name, a coach who has done very well in many teams, who started playing here in Rome. Maybe after Madrid he can make this choice.”
“But I think the important thing is to do well for next year and for 2027, we need a very strong name as our next head coach.”
