Across all four men's NCAA Tournament Elite Eight games set to be played this weekend, there might not be a more intriguing matchup than the Alabama Crimson Tide vs. the Duke Blue Devils.
Two of college basketball's elite teams, Alabama and Duke are both deep at every position on the court, and have two of the nation's best coaches in Nate Oats and Jon Scheyer. The Crimson Tide and Blue Devils are also coming off stellar performances as well, with each scoring in triple-digits during their Sweet 16 wins over BYU and Arizona, respectively.
Here is who every member of our Roll Tide Wire staff has winning Saturday's Elite Eight matchup between Alabama and Duke.
Matt's Prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 86, Duke Blue Devils 84
Alabama's toughest test yet this March, Duke will certainly present a challenge for the Crimson Tide in every facet of the game. However, I do think Alabama repeats some of their success from this past Thursday against BYU from three-point range, and wins a close contest over the Blue Devils to advance to their second consecutive Final Four.
Steve's Prediction: Duke Blue Devils 92, Alabama Crimson Tide 84
If Alabama shoots the ball as well as they did against BYU, or even as well as they did at times a couple of times in conference play when they were really lighting it up, I don’t think anyone in the country can beat them. But Duke isn’t BYU, and the Blue Devils have a number of ways to beat a team. Cooper Flagg and teammates are playing their best basketball of the season. Unless Alabama has another big night from beyond the arc, I don’t see anyone beating the Blue Devils this year.
Sam's Prediction: Alabama Crimson Tide 92, Duke Blue Devils 90
The Tide are coming off of the best shooting performance in NCAA Tournament history after knocking down 25 3's against BYU. It's very unlikely Alabama will shoot that well again, but they'll need to come close to it to knock off Cooper Flagg and Duke. However, I think Nate Oats' team is peaking at the right time and presents several problems for the Blue Devils.
