Rams among 'best fits' for former second-round WR
Free agency started with a raucous week of signings and a few trades, but the offseason isn't over yet. There are still a lot of quality players who remain unsigned on the open market, and the Los Angeles Rams still have some holes to fill.
While the 2025 NFL Draft is a great place to shore up positions of need, the Rams could also sign some second-wave players to maintain as much depth as possible.
Even after L.A. signed Davante Adams and re-signed Tutu Atwell, the team's receiver room is shallow. Puka Nacua and Jordan Whittington are the only two other receivers with quality experience on the Rams. One player the Rams could target in the waning weeks of free agency is former Cleveland Browns receiver Elijah Moore, someone Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes is a great fit for Sean McVay's offense.
"Teams looking for receiver help but uninterested in chasing a pass-catcher with age or injury concerns should be intrigued by Elijah Moore," Knox wrote. "Moore may never develop into more than a third or fourth receiver, but his upside is appealing. Though a bit undersized at 5'10" and 180 pounds, he's a clean route-runner with 4.35 speed and inside-outside versatility.
"The Los Angeles Rams could also provide Moore with a tremendous new home. While the Rams added Davante Adams as a free agent, they parted with both Kupp and Demarcus Robinson. Moore, along with Tutu Atwell, could help replace Kupp as an inside-outside receiver. His skill set would also mesh with Sean McVay's spacing-based passing concepts. Former Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt also happens to work in L.A. as a senior offensive assistant."
Moore has been relatively unspectacular during his four NFL seasons, but he's produced enough to have value in this league. He's caught 200 receptions for 2,162 yards and nine touchdowns in 61 games but has never caught more than 61 passes in a season or finished with more than 640 receiving yards.
Fortunately, the Rams wouldn't need him to be anything more than a possession pass-catcher alongside Atwell and Whittington. As far as depth goes, Moore is a good option for a team that needs more offensive playmakers. And L.A. is a good option for Moore after two poor showings at two different clubs.
