Pine Forest hires former South View lineman Kevin Inman as football program leader
Pine Forest High School found its football program's newest head coach for the first time in 18 years.
In January, the Trojans' football coach of 18 years, Bill Sochovka, announced his retirement from coaching, which will go into effect on July 1.
Pine Forest announced South View graduate Kevin Inman as the new leader of the Trojans in the 2025-26 season in a press release via Twitter/X.

"He had some community roots and some background with Cumberland County, which we felt was important," Pine Forest's AD Mandy McMillan said about the new coach.

After his high school playing career, Inman went on to play Division I football at ECU, then transferred to UNC-Pembroke for his final two years, where he was a starting center.
"Throughout the process, his passion and knowledge were very evident for football and working with athletes. He's also coming in with a lot of experience in strength and conditioning, which will benefit us," McMillan said.
Inman's coaching experience is vast and has had multiple coaching positions, including Cumberland County schools like Terry Sanford, South View, and Gray's Creek.
"One of the things that we were fortunate of is that we were able to get him (Inman) in before spring workouts start, so this will allow him to build relationships with student-athletes, preseason workouts, and get to know the families and communities along with doing the scheduling for the new conferences. It's perfect timing," McMillan said.
"The first year is going to be a learning year for him. But going forward, we have all the confidence in the world about him being as successful as Coach Sochovka.”
