Oregon Ducks make contact with sharp-shooting guard from North Dakota State
The Oregon Ducks saw their season come to an end on Sunday night at the hands of the Arizona Wildcats in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. While it was a frustrating end to the year, with the Ducks missing ten free throws in an 87-83 loss, the year was still a success, with Dana Altman winning yet another first-round tournament game.
Now, the Ducks will turn toward the offseason and work on constructing their roster for next season. That starts with the transfer portal, where there are a number of needs for Altman to fill as he tries to bring back the best players from last year's team.
According to On3's Joe Tipton, Oregon has already made contact with one high-profile portal player — North Dakota State transfer Jacari White.
A senior with one year of eligibility remaining, White is a sharp-shooting guard who averaged 17.1 points per game in 2024-25. In his three years with the Bison, White has hit 35%, 45%, and 39% from beyond the arc.
North Dakota State transfer guard Jacari White has heard from the following schools since entering the portal, per source:

One of the major needs for Oregon in the portal this year is a dynamic shooting guard who can knock down threes with consistency. There are a lot of teams after White, but the Ducks may be able to get him on a visit to Eugene and pair him up with Jackson Shelstad, adding some firepower to the offense in Matthew Knight Arena.
