Oklahoma Sooners beat Arkansas Razorbacks 6-4
The Oklahoma Sooners moved to 25-0 on the season, sweeping the Saturday doubleheader against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Unlike the first game of the day, this one was a back-and-forth battle of two good lineups.
The Razorbacks struck first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning off of starter Kierston Deal. Arkansas' Kailey Wyckoff led off the inning with a double and moved to third on a throwing error on a single by Bri Ellis. Raigan Kramer gave the Razorbacks the lead with an RBI single and with one out in the inning Ella McDowell drove in Ellis for a 2-0 lead against the defending national champions.
In the top of the fourth, the Sooners cut into the deficit on a two-out RBI double from Gabbie Garcia, who extended her hitting streak to 11 games. She was thrown out on a beautiful relay by the Arkansas defense trying to stretch the double to a triple and was the third out of the inning.
After a shutdown inning from Deal in the bottom of the fourth, the Sooners took their first lead of the game in the top of the fifth. Abigail Dayton led off the inning with a double, and Isabella Emerling hit her eighth home run of the season to put the Sooners up 3-2.

The Razorbacks answered with some small ball in the bottom half of the fifth after a lead-off single by Ellis and a walk by Kramer put runners on first and second with nobody out. Courtney Day dropped a sacrifice bunt to move the runners to second and third, and McDowell came through again with an RBI single to tie the game. Atalyia Rijo gave Arkansas the lead on a sacrifice bunt to make it 4-3 Razorbacks.
But the Sooners responded once again as Kasidi Pickering came through in the clutch with a solo home run to tie the game at four apiece. Later in the sixth, the Sooners worked the bases loaded, and Sydney Barker gave Oklahoma a 5-4 lead with a walk on after working a full count.
To close out the game, Patty Gasso turned to Sam Landry, who had already worked a complete game shutout in the first game of the day. Landry worked a 1-2-3 sixth inning to keep the explosive Razorbacks from getting back into the game.
In the top of the seventh, nursing a 5-4 lead, Cydney Sanders walked with one out. Maya Bland, pinch-running for Sanders, stole second base, getting the base after Arkansas was called for obstruction. Then, Nelly McEnroe-Marinas came up big for the Sooners, providing the insurance run to make it 6-4 in the seventh inning.

Arkansas threatened in the bottom of the seventh with a two-out double by Day, but Landry finished the game inducing a groundout to McDowell.
In the win, Landry moved to 7-0 on the season and lowered her ERA to a team-leading 1.22. McEnroe-Marinas reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI. She's now hitting .400 on the season with six home runs and 24 RBIs, which are tied for second on the team.
Two-time SEC Player of the Week Ella Parker has had a difficult time in SEC play. She's in the midst of a 1-for-13 slump dating back to the SEC opener against South Carolina. Though she has just one hit, she's walked eight times and scored four runs.
The Oklahoma Sooners will close the series with the Razorbacks on Sunday at 11 a.m. That game can be seen on SEC Network.
