The 2025 NFL draft class has several intriguing players with talents that don't come around very often. One of those players is Colorado's Travis Hunter, the Heisman Trophy-winning, two-way sensation that is sure to be taken in the first five picks in Green Bay in two weeks.
Which team will be fortunate enough to land Hunter? Well, the New York Giants could be that team as they hold the third overall selection in the draft this year.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Devin Hester recently said in an interview that the Giants would actually be the "ideal" team to take Hunter.

“That’s a fit for him,” Hester said, as transcribed by Pro Football Network. “I don’t know how it’s going to pan out when you talk about Travis playing offense and defense, but I can see him playing some offensive plays with the Giants as well as playing DB.”
Hester sees a unique and rare talent in Hunter, and expects him to excel at the NFL level.
“Travis is special, he has a unique talent that comes around every decade,” Hester said. “Of course, we know what he can do on defense. The offensive side of the ball is where you have to be a special OC to utilize that type of kid. The talent that he has, you have to have an OC that has a creative mind to say, ‘Hey, let’s utilize this kid to his best ability.’
“If he’s a receiver that doesn’t need all these deep balls, give him something short and let him work. You need someone unique -- someone who thinks outside the box. Not an old-school mentality with basic plays and expecting him to thrive. Be very creative when it comes to Travis.“If you can manage and do that with Travis, he doesn’t need the ball 10 or 15 touches. If you get it in his hands five to eight times a game, he’s dangerous. He doesn’t need it a lot. That’s what coaches have failed to realize with players like me, Travis, and those types of guys.”
The Giants see Hunter as a starting cornerback who can play on offense. They already have a coach for him in Troy Brown, who played both ways for the New England Patriots in their Super Bowl days.
Hunter would just have to slip by the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns in the draft for the Giants to make this union a reality. With Tennessee almost certain to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward first overall, the Giants could just have to have Cleveland take a pass.
The Browns have spent a lot of time with Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, so it is very possible that Hunter could drop right into the Giants' lap.
