Russell Wilson will likely be the New York Giants' starting quarterback this season. It will be an odd thing to watch for modern day Giant fans -- a player who has made his name elsewhere coming in and leading their team.
Giant fans are used to seeing homegrown players such as Phil Simms and Eli Manning under center for a decade and a half, not expensive imports like Wilson. It will take a minute to recalibrate.
An awkward moment awaits Wilson, Manning, the Giants, and their fans should Wilson produce at his normal level.
Russell Wilson needs 17 passing TD’s to pass Eli Manning for 11th in all time TD’s

Wilson enters the 2025 NFL season with 350 career passing touchdowns, 12th all-time in NFL history. By tossing 17 this season, he'll pass Manning, who has 366, for 11th on the all-time list.
It may not be a big deal for most. At this point, Eli has solidified his legacy as a Giant and an NFL future Hall of Famer. If Wilson passes Manning in a game at MetLife Stadium, the reaction might be an interesting one. If it happens on the road, few will care.
Wilson can have success with Big Blue as an import. It's been done before. Y.A. Tittle, Fran Tarkenton, Kerry Collins, Norm Snead, Earl Morrall, and Kurt Warner have come in and played at a high level for the Giants.
Still, watching the Giants celebrate a Wilson milestone at Manning's expense will be a bit odd.
