New Orleans Saints announce offseason practice dates, OTAs and minicamp

The New Orleans Saints are set to kick off their offseason workout program under Kellen Moore's first year on the job. The NFL announced key dates for all 32 teams on Thursday, including the Saints, who will report for their first day of work at the Metairie practice facility on April 14. That's two weeks before the 2025 NFL draft.

After that, the Saints are scheduled for their first round of organized team activities from May 20-22, with another round of workouts beginning May 27. Players will have the day off on May 28 before returning for back-to-back practices on May 29-30. The final round of OTAs follows the same pattern from June 2-5.

This all leads up to the start of mandatory minicamp from June 10-12. It remains to be seen how many of these practice dates will be open to the public, but you'd hope that Saints fans will get a couple of opportunities to see their team before training camp begins in late July. Camp moved to Southern California last summer. Look for a closed-to-the-public rookie minicamp to be scheduled in early May, after the draft, where first- and second-year players will get a chance to try out and, in some cases, wear black and gold for the first time.

But the bigger concern will be participation. Moore is installing an entirely new offense just like his defensive coordinator Brandon Staley will be doing on his side of the ball. Getting young and veteran players alike in the building for each of these practice dates will be crucial to speeding up that process.
