Leverkusen's Hermoso out for season after surgery
Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen will be without defender Mario Hermoso for the rest of the season after he underwent surgery on a chest ligament injury in Spain.
Hermoso, 29, suffered the injury during last week's Champions League last 16 return leg defeat against Bayern Munich.
He came to Leverkusen in January on loan from Italy's Roma until the end of the season, featured in four Bundesliga matches and both Champions League matches against Munich.
Leverkusen said late Tuesday that by agreement with Roma Hermoso will complete his rehabilitation with them.
Leverkusen are second in the Bundesliga, six points behind Bayern. They are also in the German Cup semi-finals.
