Mario Hermoso out for the season with shoulder injury
Roma loanee Mario Hermoso has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The Spaniard, who moved on loan from Roma to Bayer Leverkusen in January, has suffered an injury that will keep him out of action until the end of the season.
Despite the break, however, Hermoso will not return to the Italian capital.
The German club announced it in an official statement.
“Bayer 04 defender Mario Hermoso underwent successful surgery today, Tuesday, in Madrid. The player on loan from Roma had suffered a tendon injury in the area of the right pectoral muscle during the return leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich (0-2). Hermoso will be out for Bayer 04 until the end of the current season.
His rehabilitation will be carried out in agreement with Roma at the “Werkstatt” in Leverkusen, the club’s rehabilitation and training center located in the BayArena.”
