Nebraska lands commitment from Central Michigan transfer forward

Nebraska basketball and a commitment from Central Michigan transfer forward Ugnius Jarusevicius on Saturday. Jarusevicius comes to Lincoln with quite the resume. He averaged 16.2 points per game and 7.3 rebounds last season. He earned first-team all-MAC honors as a junior this past year. He shot 53.7% from the field as well as 71% from the free-throw line.

Jarusevicius measures 6 feet 10 inches and weighs 220 pounds. He is a senior. This is the Huskers' second transfer portal commitment in as many days. On Friday, they landed former Iowa forward Pryce Sandfort. Now, they have picked up another commitment from the portal as they continue to fill out their roster.

This could be another strong get for the program. Jarusevicius has shot 48.6% from the field for his career and will be able to bring a scoring element to Nebraska’s frontcourt. He has also proven to be a solid rebounder, totaling 294 in his career.

The Huskers needed to have a strong start to the transfer portal this offseason, and they have been able to make it happen so far. It will be interesting to see who else they add to fill out the rest of the roster.
