Molly Miller celebrates Grand Canyon's March Madness berth with Gatorade angels
How do you celebrate punching your first ticket to the women's NCAA Tournament?
Apparently, it involves a Gatorade water (with perhaps some ice) bath and making snow angels on the locker room floor.
Well, that was at least how Grand Canyon women's basketball coach Molly Miller celebrated the Lopes' first WAC tournament championship on Saturday in the lead-up to the March Madness Selection Sunday show on Sunday.

In her fifth season at Grand Canyon, Miller has shaped the Lopes into one of women's college basketball's best mid-major programs. Led by leading scorers Trinity San Antonio and Alyssa Durazo-Frescas, the Lopes rank second in the country in field goal percentage (49.3%) and rank in the top 10 in several other categories, including steals per game and turnovers forced per game.
"We're going to keep the status quo," Miller said on Saturday about heading into her first NCAA Tournament as a head coach. "Whatever we're going to do, we're going to do it because we're going to knock off a few teams in the tournament, and this team out of anyone can do it. I'm so excited to go to the Big Dance and even put some more eyes on GCU women's basketball."
As noted by The Arizona Republic, part of the USA TODAY Network, Miller has been one of several names linked to the head coaching search at Arizona State.
Grand Canyon heads into the NCAA Tournament as one of the hottest teams in the country with a 30-game win streak. At 32-2 overall on the season, with those two losses coming to then-No. 23 Oregon and Middle Tennessee, Miller's squad also has the best record in the country.
The Lopes were one of six Division I women's basketball teams – others were Arkansas State, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Mason, UC San Diego and William & Mary – that heard their names called for the first time on Sunday.
Grand Canyon opens up March Madness play on Friday, March 21 against No. 4 seed Baylor at Foster Pavillon in Waco, Texas.
