Michigan State baseball goes on the road to open Big Ten play in Iowa City
Michigan State baseball went on the road to open their Big Ten conference play in Iowa City this past weekend. The Spartans, opening their 2025 campaign with a 12-4 record, the most important part of the season is beginning for MSU.
Unfortunately, the start of conference play did not go well for the Spartans, dropping two-of-three games to the Hawkeyes.
The Spartans took game one on Friday in a thriller, defeating Iowa 12-8 in 11 innings behind an offensive explosion from their bats. In the second game of Friday's double header, MSU fell to Iowa, 7-3.
On Saturday, it was a flush it down the toilet game for the Spartans, getting crushed by Iowa, 10-0 in a seven inning affair.
Michigan State will be back in action for a midweek game against Oakland on Wednesday, before going back on the road for a conference series against Penn State next weekend.
