The Michigan basketball program simply will not stop landing big time commitments.
The Wolverines had already earned pledges from three of the top available players in the portal in the first 10 days while shaping next year's roster and now have added yet another.
UCLA center Aday Mara has committed to coach Dusty May and Michigan, according to multiple reports Friday.
Mara, listed at 7 feet 3 and 240 pounds, played 61 games with nine starts during his time in Los Angeles and expects to slot in as aversion of Vlad Goldin, U-M's first team All-Big Ten star big man, who ran out of collegiate eligibility.
A native of Zaragoza, Spain, Mara averaged 6.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the floor. Mara is a solid offensive rebounder, averaging 1.8 per night in just 13 minutes, and also an elite rim protector who averaged 1.6 blocks per game for Mick Cronin as a sophomore.
Mara scored a career-high 22 points when he shot 7-for-7 in a win over Wisconsin, had a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double later in the week in a win over inner-city rival USC, had 11 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Northwestern and put up 10 points and six boards in UCLA's opening round win of March Madness over Utah State.
