Marchisio: Yildiz change under Tudor but ‘everyone under scrutiny’ at Juventus

Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio sees a big change for Kenan Yildiz under Igor Tudor, but warns the Bianconeri that ‘everyone is under scrutiny.’

The Bianconeri sacked Thiago Motta less than two weeks ago and replaced him with Igor Tudor.

The Croat has signed a contract until the end of the season and has been tasked with reaching a Champions League placement in the current campaign.

“Changes are always positive, at least in principle, but consistency is needed,” Marchisio told Tuttosport.

“You get it with your daily work and what you do during the week. The coach has finally had some days to catch up with the team. Sunday’s game will be challenging.”

The Bianconeri will visit direct rivals Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

“I expect a Juventus with a strong desire to win at the Olimpico. Every match can make a difference and a great team can’t settle for a draw,” Marchisio said.

“They must go to Rome with personality. The club has it, and Tudor knows it.

“Tudor has won a lot and has also gone through difficult times. A coach with his experience could make a difference if a change had to be made.”

Thiago Motta paid a high price for disappointing results and a poor relationship with part of the dressing room, even if a member of the coach’s entourage recently denied disagreements between the ex-Italy international and the Juventus players.

“When a relationship breaks down during the season, it’s never one person’s fault,” argued Marchisio.

“Everyone must share the responsibility. Highs and lows are obvious, and everyone is under scrutiny at the club.”

Marchisio has already noticed a significant change in Yildiz’s management. The Turkish talent played as a winger under Motta, but Tudor deployed him in a central position on his debut against Genoa last week.

“Yildiz did really well under Motta, but he had to cover the whole pitch, with a lot of sacrifice in defence,” noted Marchisio.

“Naturally, talents like him need to participate in both phases and fit into the team’s system, but freedom up front helps you be sharp in the final third and score goals.”

Juventus sit fifth in the Serie A table, one point below fourth-placed Bologna.
