LSU women's basketball continues to draw massive TV ratings

Women's college basketball has seen its popularity skyrocket in recent years thanks to stars like LSU's Angel Reese and Iowa's Caitlin Clark. Reese and Clark are in the WNBA now, but fans remained invested in March Madness as the Elite Eight posted massive viewership numbers.

According to ESPN PR, the 2025 women's basketball Elite Eight was the second most-watched Elite Eight on record. Of the four games, LSU's meeting with UCLA drew the most viewers with the broadcast peaking at 4.4 million. That made it the third most watched Elite Eight game on record.

Duke and South Carolina also surpassed the 4 million mark, peaking at 4.1 million viewers. UConn and USC peaked at 3.4 million, while TCU vs. Texas peaked at 3.2 million.

In total, the games averaged 2.9 million viewers, and all four contests rank among the 10 most watch Elite Eight games in the sport's history.

A batch of big names will be off to the WNBA once again, but women's college basketball is in a good place with a new group of young stars in place.
