Liam Coen on how Jaguars would potentially utilize CB/WR Travis Hunter

During the annual NFL league meeting, Jacksonville Jaguars' head coach Liam Coen discussed how he and the organization would utilize Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter if he ended up on the team.

On an appearance on the Brent and Austen Show, Coen noted the importance of being "fluid" as an organization.

“I think you have to be fluid as an organization,” Coen said via Jaguars on Sports Illustrated. "Because of his diversity, what he can do, the amount of snaps he plays.

"He's going to play both sides of the ball and that has to be an organizational buy-in from the coaches, the strength staff, the athletic training, sports performance, everybody has to be involved, as well as the coaches."

Hunter was a two-way player at Colorado, starting at both cornerback and wide receiver, and has said that he wants to continue to play both positions at the NFL level.

As a receiver, Hunter caught an impressive 79% of his 121 targets, averaging 13.1 yards per catch with 15 touchdowns, according to PFF. In coverage, Hunter allowed a completion rate of only 56% on 41 targets and held pass-catchers to under 10.0 yards per catch. He also came away with four interceptions and seven pass breakups.

One of the many areas of his game that stands out are Hunter's ball skills, as evidenced by his production on both sides of the football.

"Having patience with each side of ball," added Coen, "because you really don't want to kind of put him in a box. You really just want to, ‘Hey, what does he come in and do the best?’ You're going to be able to let him do both, so you're going to find out what he's best at and then, ‘Hey, let's mold things to that and be fluid for those conversations."

We've seen in recent weeks more mock drafts with Hunter going to the Jaguars at fifth overall. The path for that happening seems to consist of two quarterback selections, Abdul Carter being taken in the top-three, and an offensive tackle going to the Patriots.
