LeBron James addresses the Golden State Warriors adding Jimmy Butler

The Golden State Warriors are 20-5 since acquiring Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline. They're 20-4 with him in the rotation. Butler has elevated Steve Kerr's team back to the level of contending for a championship. On Thursday, April 3, the Warriors showcased their new-found resolve by overcoming the Luka Doncic and LeBron James Los Angeles Lakers.

When speaking to the media after the game, James shared his thoughts on Butler's addition to the Warriors rotation. The aging superstar noted how the Warriors have consistently found ways to improve their roster throughout the years and Butler is the latest example of that.

"I've had to go against them when they added Kevin Durant," LeBron said. "Jimmy Butler is great, he adds a toughness to them, he adds a championship-DNA type of guy. It's always the same, they always figure it out, they always add someone that makes them dynamic."

Since joining the Warriors, Butler is averaging 17.3 points, six rebounds and six assists, shooting 51.4% from two-point range. His physicality and ability to pressure the rim have given Golden State a new offense dimension, while his defensive upside has perfectly slotted next to Draymond Green.

Golden State currently occupies the fifth seed in the Western Conference and could be set for an opening round matchup against the Lakers. However, with the West still wide open, everything is subject to change between now and the end of the season.
