South Korea's Hyo-Joo Kim won the Ford Championship in a play-off as England's Charley Hull failed to mount a challenge on the final day in Arizona.

Kim beat American Lilia Vu on the first extra hole to claim her seventh LPGA title after they finished tied on 22 under par at Whirlwind Golf Club's Cattail Course.

Hull, who went into the final round in second place - two shots behind leader Vu - finished tied for 11th on 17 under after carding a one-under 71, her worst score of the tournament.

Kim began the day four shots off the lead, but hit nine birdies in a 64 to reel in Vu, who went round in 68.

American Allisen Corpuz was third on 21 under after shooting a 65, with Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul a shot further back.

American defending champion Nelly Korda, who slipped out of contention with a third-round 73, finished in a tie for 22nd on 14 under thanks to a round of 69.
