The Michigan basketball program has landed its second big fish from the transfer portal in as many days.
Morez Johnson Jr., a 6-foot-9, 225-pound freshman from Illinois has committed to the Wolverines, a a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the Free Press on condition on anonymity because it's not official. Johnson averaged seven points and 6.7 rebounds last season for the Illini and was incredibly efficient around the rim, shooting 64.2% on the season in 17 minutes per night.
This is the second major acquisition for Dusty May and company in the portal in as many days, after they landed former five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau from North Carolina on Monday.
In addition, point guard Tre Donaldson decided to put his name in the transfer portal after one year in Ann Arbor.
