Just over a week after entering the transfer portal, Kansas basketball forward Flory Bidunga is back in the fold.
Bidunga, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound freshman and former McDonald's All-American was the primary backup to senior post players Hunter Dickinson and KJ Adams this season, appearing in all 34 games with six starts for the 21-13 Jayhawks. He averaged 5.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
"(He) wants to finish what he started at Kansas, wants to continue to grow and develop his game," Dillon Craft, Bidunga's guardian, said of his decision to withdraw from the portal and rejoin the Jayhawks. "(He) wants to bring another championship back to Lawrence."
With Dickinson and Adams out of eligibility and junior forward Zach Clemence entering the portal, Bidunga's return gives Kansas a legitimate post presence in an offseason that will see a significant overhaul of coach Bill Self's roster. Even with Bidunga back, coach Bill Self most likely will look for frontcourt help via the portal.
