The Winnipeg Jets will conclude their road trip, looking to earn the season series win over Utah HC.
The Jets have mustered two wins over Utah, defeating them 3-0 and 5-2, but lost 5-2 on Jan. 20. Off the back of a crucial win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, the Jets should feel confident, despite the injuries and possibilities of others.
Gabriel Vilardi, Neal Pionk, and Rasmus Kupari are all confirmed to be out, dealing with previous injuries. Nikolaj Ehlers enters tonight's contest as a possibility, said to be a game-time decision by HC Scott Arniel.
The 29-year-old blocked a shot early in the first period that clearly stung him, but the shot that took him out of the game came off the stick of Cole Perfetti.
Eric Comrie was stellar against the Golden Knights, turning away all 26 shots he faced, en route to his second shutout of the season. He's done everything the Jets have asked of him this season, providing stability when Connor Hellebuyck needs rest.
Hellebuyck will likely return to the Jets goal, making his 58th start of the season. Leading in four key goaltending statistics, Hellebuyck is making a strong push for the Hart Trophy. A few more dominant performances to help the Jets win the Presidents Trophy could do just that.
Utah aren't mathematically eliminated yet, which means they still have something to play for and the Jets will need to match their intensity.
