Jadon Sancho: Chelsea make decision on Man United transfer
Jadon Sancho could remain a Chelsea player after all, despite the revelation there’s an opt-out clause in the deal agreed with Manchester United.
When the Blues signed the winger on loan last summer they agreed to an obligation to buy the player at the end of the season for £25 million.
It emerged this week that Chelsea could back out of the deal, but it would mean Man United are owed a £5m penalty payment.
That appeared like a real possibility as Sancho’s form has dipped following a decent start to life at Stamford Bridge. He produced three assists in his opening three appearances for the club, but has not had a goal involvement since 4 January.
However, Sky Sports claim that Chelsea are ‘still expected’ sign Sancho permanently in the summer when the transfer window opens.
The west London outfit are also ‘expected’ to be in the market for a new winger due to the uncertainty surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk’s future. The Ukraine international was handed a provisional suspension by the FA in December after testing positive for a banned substance.
