Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly sign former Eagles OL Fred Johnson to one-year deal
The Jacksonville Jaguars are through with the first wave of free agency, but they aren't quite done adding players.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team is signing former Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Fred Johnson to a one-year deal. The details were given to Schefter by Johnson's agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Johnson, 27, was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Florida by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After being waived by the team midseason his rookie year, Johnson was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals where he played three seasons for the franchise.
Jacksonville Jaguars GM James Gladstone: NFL free agency approach 'very disciplined'
Johnson started eight games for the Bengals at both Guard and tackle. He played in 23 total games before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022. Johnson played in five games with no starts. He signed with the Eagles in 2023 and has since played in 34 games with six starts.
Last season, Johnson saw action at left and right tackle during his time in Philly.
Johnson is just the latest addi5tion the Jaguars have made to the team's offensive line. In the early portion of free agency, the Jaguars signed three offensive linemen.
The additions included two starters, right guard Patrick Mekari and center Robert Hainsey. The team also signed swing tackle Chuma Edoga to bolster their front.
“I do think that we answered some questions there with our decisions here in pro-free agency, addressing both center and guard, as well as the tackle position," Jaguars general manager James Gladstone said last week of the team's offensive line additions.
"Clearly by signing three of those players, and that being the most at any one position over the course of the free agent window, we're setting the standard for what we're actually looking to do and that doesn't count offensive line out of the equation in the draft either. But at the same time, that's another position that does have attrition throughout the course of a season, so we'll never feel like we've got enough.”
The Jaguars hold 10 selections in this year's draft and plan to build primarily through that moving forward.
