Texans sign veteran OT Cam Robinson to one-year deal
The Houston Texans have a new left tackle for the 2025 season.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Texans are signing offensive tackle Cam Robinson to a one-year deal. The contract is worth $12 million and can reach up to $14.5 million based on incentives, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
A former second-round pick out of Alabama, Robinson spent the first 7 years of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being traded at the deadline last season to the Minnesota Vikings as a temporary replacement for injured left tackle Christian Darrisaw. He started the remainder of the year and impressed, helping the Vikings finish with a 14-3 overall record and a top 10 scoring offense.
In Houston, he'll replace five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil as the new blindside protector for C.J. Stroud. Tunsil, who spent six seasons in Houston, was traded to the Washington Commanders in exchange for four draft picks.
The Texans should still be targeting a tackle in the draft, though the need at No. 25 could be lower after the move for Robinson. Houston also must target interior offensive line help after the trade of Kenyon Green and the release of Shaq Mason.
