Texans to sign OT Cam Robinson, per reports
Cam Robinson is signing a free-agent contract with the Houston Texans ahead of the 2025 NFL season, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Robinson was a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft and has been a long-term starting left tackle at the NFL level. He spent his first seven-plus seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being traded to the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the 2024 trade deadline.
The Vikings acquired Robinson along with a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick. They surrendered a 2026 fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-round selection based on Robinson's playing time.
Robinson started seven games for the Vikings as a replacement for the injured Christian Darrisaw. He allowed four sacks and 49 pressures in 11 games for Minnesota. That included 12 pressures in the Vikings' wild-card playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
In total, Robinson allowed seven sacks, committed 13 penalties and allowed 52 pressures across 999 regular-season snaps with the Jaguars and Vikings. He finished the 2024 season as Pro Football Focus' 53rd-rated tackle among 81 qualifiers.
Robinson has almost exclusively played left tackle during his NFL career. He played two snaps at left guard in 2022 but otherwise has served as a blind-side blocker.
The 29-year-old is expected to remain in his left tackle role after joining the Texans. He will help replace Laremy Tunsil, who was traded to the Washington Commanders during the offseason.
