Manchester United allowed Marcus Rashford to leave the club in the winter transfer window in a loan move to join to Aston Villa.
The English attacker has since regained his form under Unai Emery and that has earned him a call-up to the England squad.
Before leaving the club earlier this year, Rashford had fallen out with manager Ruben Amorim and it became clear that his future lies away from Old Trafford.
The boyhood Man United fan is expected to be sold permanently by the club after this season but it remains to be seen if Villa would exercise their option of signing the player in a permanent move.
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest update on the future of Rashford.
Romano told GIVEMESPORT‘s ‘Market Madness’ podcast:
“Aston Villa are very happy with Marcus Rashford in general. So I don’t think, in any case, if they decided to trigger the £40million option clause, I don’t think they would do that just to sell the player again.
“So in that case, I see Marcus Rashford staying at Aston Villa and having the opportunity to make something long-term with the club.
“What I can say about Marcus Rashford is that it’s going to be really important to understand financially what happens for Aston Villa.
“So now they’re obviously really focused on the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and to see what happens in the Premier League table from now to the end of the season. That’s going to be obviously really important, and then we will have to see financially.”
Marcus Rashford to leave Man United permanently?
It would make complete sense if Rashford would want to stay at Villa beyond this season.
Under Emery, the attacker has found his form again and started enjoying football once again, something that was missing at Old Trafford.
It would be best for United and Rashford to go their separate ways since unfortunately he has not future under Amorim.
The player could have become one of the all time greats at the club but thing did not go in his favour and now it time to say goodbye to the club to embark a new journey in his career.
Along with Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho could also be shown the exit door at Old Trafford.
