Zach Edey struggled in Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
The Grizzlies' rookie center dealt with foul trouble for most of the night and didn't get a rhythm going. He also had a rough night defensively, part of a shambolic defensive performance by the Grizzlies as a whole that included 52 points allowed in the third quarter.
Minnesota won 141-125. It was a critical win for the Timberwolves, who are now tied at 47-33 with the Grizzlies with two regular-season games to go.
Edey had been playing well since the Grizzlies fired coach Taylor Jenkins and replaced him with Tuomas Iisalo, and he'd tallied double-digit rebounds in the last four games. He had seven points and nine rebounds on Thursday night.
The Grizzlies are back in action on Friday night when they face the Nuggets in Denver.
