Can the power of analytics successfully predict its way through the 2025 NFL draft? Well, we'll soon find out.
NFL.com, in partnership with Amazon OverSight, has launched a new analytics tool—NFL Draft IQ. The service claims it can roughly forecast every team's upcoming draft activity—including pinpointing potential targets and predicting the likelihood of trades.
Each team has their own interactive dashboard, headlined by a projected big board of first-round targets. The boards, per the service, are based off "pre-draft interest, team needs, and organizational philosophies."
Here, with the help of Mike Band from NFL Next Gen Stats, is how NFL Draft IQ sets up the Carolina Panthers' queue:
- WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado (Projected top-five pick)
- DT Mason Graham, Michigan (Projected top-10 pick)
- EDGE/LB Jalon Walker, Georgia (Projected top-15 pick)
- EDGE Mykel Williams, Georgia (Projected first-round pick)
- WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona (Projected first-round pick)
- EDGE Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M (Projected first-round pick)
- CB Will Johnson, Michigan (Projected first-round pick)
NFL Draft IQ, additionally, gives the Panthers a very low likelihood to trade up in the first round at one out of five stars. Their likelihood to trade down sits at a slightly higher two out of five stars.
