Georgia Bulldog named as player that 'will go higher than expected' in 2025 NFL draft

Georgia Bulldogs center Jared Wilson has been named as a prospect "who will go higher than expected" in the 2025 NFL draft. Wilson is one of the top center prospect in the draft. The center position has been devalued over the years, but Wilson brings an intriguing amount of potential to the NFL.

Wilson is an excellent athlete. He put on a show at the 2025 NFL combine and is ranked as the third-most athletic player in the draft.

Bleacher Report ranks Wilson as the No. 86 prospect in the draft, which does not seem too high for Wilson. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound center plays a position that "isn't populated with a lot of options" as Brent Sobleski puts it.

Wilson certainly enters the draft with some questions about his ability. Georgia's rushing offense in 2024 finished second-to-last in the SEC and had a lot of inconsistent play. Wilson only has one season of starting experience, so he is not a veteran at the position like former Georgia center Sedrick Van Pran, who went in the fifth-round of the 2024 NFL draft.

Wilson's 2024 season was still enough to earn second team All-SEC honors. NFL teams are willing to take a risk on elite athletes like Wilson, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up getting drafted.
