GdS: New tests scheduled for Tuesday as Maignan is discharged from hospital

Mike Maignan was discharged from the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital this morning, getting the initial all-clear after the head collision in Udinese-Milan.

It ended up being a rather tough night for the Frenchman, despite Milan’s 2-0, as he collided with Alex Jimenez at the start of the second half. The players and paramedics acted quickly and he was stretchered off the pitch quickly, heading to the hospital for more tests.

Thankfully, the tests came back negative for any head injuries. Maignan was discharged from the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine at 9 am this morning, as per Gazzetta dello Sport, and he then returned to Milano.

Now, a few necessary days of rest await the goalkeeper as he will carry out new tests on Tuesday, after which he will hopefully be able to return to training little by little. Milan won’t play their next game until April 20th, so there is certainly no rush in getting him back in action.

It should be clarified that Milan won’t take any risks with Maignan, even if he were to return to training before the Atalanta game. Perhaps the Coppa Italia clash against Inter is a more realistic target for him, as such.
